Spine ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Spine mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Who Can Use Spine

Spine is intended for users 13 years of age and older. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Email address and password (used to create and manage your account)
• Username and optional profile information (display name, bio, avatar)
• Movie collection data you enter (titles, formats, labels, editions, notes)
• Wishlist items
• Comments and reactions on activity

Information collected automatically:

• Push notification tokens (used solely to deliver notifications to your device)
• In-app activity related to boutique label releases, such as shop link clicks and wishlist additions (used to improve our release recommendations and understand label interest)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Display your collection, profile, and activity to you and, where applicable, other users
• Send push notifications you have opted into (new followers, comments, reactions, label releases)
• Understand how users interact with boutique label releases to improve the App

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties except as described below.

4. Third-Party Services

Spine uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Your data is stored on Supabase servers. supabase.com/privacy
• Expo / Expo Push Notifications — mobile app infrastructure and push notification delivery. expo.dev/privacy
• TMDB (The Movie Database) — movie metadata (titles, posters, genres). Searches you perform are proxied through our backend; your account information is not shared with TMDB. themoviedb.org/privacy-policy

5. Data You Share With Other Users

Spine is a social app. The following information may be visible to other users:

• Your username, display name, bio, and avatar
• Your movie collection (unless your profile is set to private)
• Your wishlist (unless set to private)
• Your activity (movies added, comments, reactions)
• Your follower and following counts

You can adjust your privacy settings at any time in Settings → Privacy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, which permanently deletes your profile, collection, and all associated data.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings or in-app notification preferences

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
